A Big Day for India’s Tech Future: SEMICON India 2026 Begins in Delhi on September 17
A major gathering of the global semiconductor industry is set to begin in New Delhi, with SEMICON India 2026 opening its doors at Yashobhoomi on September 17. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fifth edition of the three-day event, which will run from September 17 to 19.With the theme “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem,” the conference aims to bring together the many links that power the semiconductor and electronics industry—from chip manufacturing and technology to research, investment and talent.The event is being jointly organised by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and SEMI, the global industry association representing the semiconductor and electronics design and manufacturing ecosystem.A Global Gathering in IndiaSEMICON India 2026 is expected to be a major meeting point for the global semiconductor community. More than 600 exhibitors and 300 international companies are expected to participate, alongside delegations from over 40 countries.The exhibition will feature six country pavilions, 12 State Government pavilions and a dedicated Startup Pavilion, creating space for companies and emerging innovators to showcase technologies, explore collaborations and build new connections.For India, the event offers an opportunity to highlight its growing capabilities and ambitions in the semiconductor and electronics sector.Where Chips Meet OpportunitySemiconductors are at the heart of modern technology, powering everything from smartphones and computers to automobiles, communication systems and advanced industrial applications.
