This year’s theme, Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow, places the focus on strengthening Ayurveda through evidence, research and innovation while taking its benefits closer to communities.The main celebrations are being held at the Kavivarya Suresh Bhat Auditorium in Nagpur, bringing together Ayurveda institutions, practitioners and stakeholders from India and across the world.From Tradition to Research and InnovationThe celebrations are looking beyond Ayurveda’s traditional roots, highlighting the growing importance of scientific research and evidence-based approaches.A key scientific session is focusing on the need to integrate different therapies to help reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases by 2027. The discussion brings together perspectives from modern healthcare and traditional medicine, highlighting the potential of collaborative approaches to public health.Another session is exploring the journey from Shashwatam to Vishwas, with a vision of taking Ayurveda towards greater public trust and a stronger role in India’s healthcare journey up to 2047.A Vision for Ayurveda’s FutureThe event will also feature the launch of several initiatives aimed at strengthening India’s traditional medicine ecosystem. These include the Ayush Vision 2030 report, titled From Traditional Wisdom to Global Leadership, along with a status report on Ayush-related inventions in India.Another important development is the CCRAS-AGNI Assessment Scale Web Portal, designed as part of efforts to support knowledge and innovation in Ayurvedic sciences. Together, these initiatives point towards a future where traditional knowledge and modern technology can work hand in hand.Ayurveda Day is more than a celebration of an ancient healthcare tradition.
