A clean terminal, shorter queues, helpful staff and a comfortable travel experience can make all the difference to a passenger. Pune Airport seems to be getting these details right! It has secured the top position among Indian airports in the latest Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey, scoring an impressive 4.98 out of 5 for the July–September 2026 quarter. The achievement puts Pune ahead of several major airports across the country and highlights the growing importance of passenger-friendly airport services. What Makes Pune Airport Stand Out?The survey was conducted under the ASQ programme by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Canada-based Airports Council International (ACI). It covered around 500 airports worldwide, including 16 Indian airports in the 'Best Airport by Size' category.Unlike rankings based only on infrastructure or operational performance, the ASQ survey takes feedback directly from passengers about their airport experience.Travellers evaluated 31 different parameters, including restroom cleanliness, terminal hygiene, check-in and security waiting times, staff communication and dining facilities. Pune Airport performed particularly well, recording strong results across 30 of the 31 parameters. Its score of 4.98 placed it ahead of Chennai and Patna, which both scored 4.94. Calicut and Varanasi followed with 4.93 each, while Goa secured 4.92. Bhubaneswar scored 4.91, and Kolkata, Raipur and Indore each received 4.90.A Proud Moment for PuneCelebrating the achievement, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol called it a proud moment for the people of Pune. He credited the ranking to the continuous efforts of the airport administration to improve passenger convenience and service standards. He also reiterated the government's commitment to strengthening Pune's air connectivity and providing better facilities to travellers in the coming years.Setting a Higher Standard for Air TravelAs air travel continues to grow in India, passenger expectations are rising too. Airports are no longer judged only by how efficiently flights operate, but also by how comfortable and convenient the entire journey feels.Pune Airport's remarkable score is a welcome recognition of the efforts being made to improve everyday travel experiences. It also sets an encouraging benchmark for other airports across the country.
